66/365: Afternoon Light

At about 4 p.m., I had no idea what I was going to post. I was fretting! But then the golden hour flooded our family room with light, and I got Natalie to pose for me. I think she's finally starting to enjoy posing for me--especially since she is now asking to see the images in the camera's display.

Thank you all for the lovely comments about her in the previous post (my assistant).

Beautiful! Natural light is amazing and the different tones it has!! This is beautiful.

As for the Project Simplify...I am just praying one of the hot spots is not the basement!!! It's a jungle down there. The perfect place to put all the stuff I don't want on the upper two levels ;)

Your first shot really captured my heart. It is so soft and sweet and I adore the natural look she has on her face. This just may be her calling.

I'm second-guessing myself on the PPing! I swear I did not do a strong amount of sharpening (there did not seem to be much a difference when I was sharpening it at 50% opacity). Her thin hair was messy and getting hit by the light makes it look almost strawlike--but does the hair look oversharpened?

WOW she look so much older in these shots. Can you use lightroom on a mac?

Oh, these are dreamy!

Yes, you can use Lightroom on a Mac. With these, I only did a few basic edits in Lightroom and then I took it into PSE to do the rest. I used Paint the Moon's Jubilee action, tweaked.

Again, beautiful! Lover the warmness.

Oh I just love these, they are breathtaking! I always lower my sharpening opacity to no higher than 50% and then I always mask back the hair another 30% because I notice the hair gets a little straw like. See if that will help what you're seeing. But I think they look great! :)

What a sweetie. I tried to do that with my daughter yesterday when we had some great evening light streaming in but trying to get a 15 month old to pose is almost impossible. It's a rare occasion that she actually freezes when I tell her to.
