273/365: The Helmet

I took little man out for a stroll. He did fine with his helmet but when he got tired of it, I took it off and put it on my head. That's why he's looking just slightly above my camera!

I'm caught up with my posting once again! Yay! Now, I need to catch up with my blog hopping!

272/365: Introduction to Sushi

We have another budding sushi lover. She makes me so proud!

271/365: Signs of Fall

My daughter's school artwork this week--"Signs of Fall" graces my refrigerator. For me, it's a sign of fall to have new artwork for the fridge!

270/365: Roses are Red...

My daughter chose these roses for me. I couldn't decide which photo I liked better!

269/365: Dinner-Time

There doesn't appear to be anything exciting going on in this picture. But I have to tell you, it's an achievement to get my son to sit at the table for dinner! So far, our new tactics are working--and we're having regular dinner times around here!

268/365: Sorry!

I don't like scary-looking critters, much less taking photos of them. But hubby called me over to ask if this was a baby tarantula. All I could do was snap a picture and run. He got rid of it. That was my excitement for the day.

267/365: The Joy of Dirt

I want to always remember a child's fascination with dirt.

266/365: Rain, Rain, Rain

265/365: Can you say Yummo?!

This is from Miss Shirley's Cafe--eggs benedict with mini jumbo lump crabcakes on fried green tomatoes with a little bit of sweet corn.

264/365: The T

I tried shooting some fitness photos of my sister (like the ones I posted on January 1) but the weather would not cooperate. This is her "T" -- she's got great balance!

263/365: My Beautiful Sister

262/365: They Call it a Regional Jet

Hmmm...it almost looks like a 30-year-old photo.

261/365: The Pioneer Woman Has One and So Do I

...A Marlboro man (said with tongue-in-cheek, of course!).

260/365: Kitchen Window

My kitchen sink is in a corner facing a double window where I keep a plant. Sometimes, the afternoon light hits one of the windows just right--filling that corner with a lovely glow.

259/365: Storybook Princess

Had to break out the Speedlite for this one!

Thank you all for the lovely comments about my little muse! Most days she doesn't want to look at the camera. I think I said something funny so she'd look at me. I'm also done with Shooting 201 at CM--it was a great class!

258/365: Wind-breaker Weather

Love fall days like this one!

257/365: Favorite Trail Mix

My hubby broke out the Monster trail mix. Let's just say we both had a long day!

256/365: Chase

They did a little chasing game that I just had to capture! Love seeing these two playing together and hope to get many more shots like these in the future!

That's chocolate on my son's pants. I didn't even ask how that happened! LOL

255/365: ISO 6400

Not having anything else to photograph, I thought I would just push the ISO way up and see what happened!

Next time I'll use a tripod for a cool effect!

254/365: Just Another Sunday

We had an easy Sunday with the kids watching a favorite movie and later spending a little time at the playground. The weekend was warm and sunny--and just lovely!
(Yes, he's a little too close to the TV!)

253/365: Pocket of Light

We went walking through one of the many lovely wooded trails in our community, and I found a pretty pocket of light. Natalie did not mind sitting for me since she was busy with her candy ring (which looked a lot like a pacifier in all my photos!).

Later after we got home, she got to paint while I snapped away for the last assignment in my class. I am putting together a storyboard and will probably post later.

252/365: Lakeshore Afternoon

The last two days have been rainy and overcast. But today, it was such a nice afternoon that I took my daughter out by the lake (Lake Ontario) after school. She was talking to the seagulls in this photo!

251/365: First Day of School

She was very excited to go to "JK" (junior kindergarten, aka, pre-K) but was less than enthusiastic about having her picture taken!

250/365: Re-discovering Elmo

Tickle Me Elmo was my daughter's -- and for awhile we had it up high out of reach. Just yesterday, we put fresh batteries in Elmo, and my son has been quite tickled by Elmo!

249/365: Mr. Independent

I'm current again with my posts! Yay! Today's photo:  my little man and I went for a brief walk around our house. Lately, he takes every chance he gets to run ahead of us! I've had to resort to a few tricks to get him to stop or slow down. For this second photo, I think I used my iPhone to get his attention. I'd pay at least a nickel to know what Mr. Independent was thinking?! LOL

248/365: Almost Back-to-School

It turns out I missed posting another day (which made my count off)! Arghh. This workshop and the entire month of August got me out of sorts! LOL Here's the capture that I missed posting--it had a back to school theme for a contest I entered on CM.

It was taken on her last day of the summer program we had her attend. Appropriately enough, tomorrow is my daughter's orientation day at her school!

247/365: Purplicious!

We're very generous with books around our house. My daughter has the entire Pinkalicious series--but lately she's enjoying the Purplicious one. They're fun and seem to have a good message!

246/365: Reflection

Taking up photography has allowed me to reflect on a lot of things. (I'm not going to get too philosophical, promise!) I get to see the world around me with new "eyes"-- and for that I'm very grateful. Things I might have taken for granted...I can now say that I'm more observant. Photography is like exercising your vision in more ways than one!

This little girl is the daughter of a fellow Clickin' Mom, who we met up with in Waterloo (about an hour from our house). We met up to exchange family photos on what turned out to be a rainy day. We managed to get a few photos but are really hoping to meet up on another day in the near future.
Snuck in a self-portrait! Hey, it counts!

245/365: Thursday's Flowers

It was bound to happen. I mixed up a day in my blog posting. Oh, well! These are the Kalanchoes that came back to life.

244/365: My Guys

243/365: Clifton Hill

Just a night shot of Clifton Hill--a street in Niagara Falls, Ontario. (Yes, I think it's a tourist trap! LOL)

242/365: Little Reminders

These leaves just about stopped me in my tracks. Yes, fall is here.
I am pretty squeamish about critters. I don't usually chase photos of them, either. But I kinda stumbled upon this one. But they are God's creatures, too. So I'm including this one as another little reminder to myself!

241/365: Shadow Man

Every time I looked toward the door lately, I saw this shadow. It's our coat-rack! It just so happens, I have a shadow related assignment (how convenient!).
